Robert Davis Obituary

Robert Leander Davis

Robert Leander Davis, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Camano Island February 13, 2010.
Bob was a twenty year survivor of Malignant Melanoma. He was raised in Woodinville, Washington, and graduated from Bothell High School in 1957.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol; his four children, Bob, Scott, Andrea and Jennifer; and nine grandchildren.
Bob and family lived in the Woodinville-Maltby area, where Bob built their beautiful home; doing it all by himself, with some help from friends and family. All the while, Bob was working in construction as a hod carrier. Bob and Carol moved to Camano Island in 1997. He enjoyed boating, fishing, crabbing, and shrimping. Bob will be remembered for his humor, one-liners (often called "Bobisms") and his willingness to help others, without expecting anything in return.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, at the Camano Island Yacht Club, 129 North Sunset Drive, Camano Island, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bob, what memories you and i had together. when we were growing up we rode the bus everyday, i helped you hay and stack it in the barn. we even had horse turd fights like snowballs. i remember hiking down to the creek by the water line to fish. you and i cut cordwood to sell one summer. how about the night we camped out in the woods far from your house and i woke up with a pain in my side and we tried to run to the house but i could hardly walk. your mother made my mom finally take me to the doctor in the late afternoon and i had to then be rushed to the hospital for an apendicitus. just 12 years old for me and you were 14. a long time ago for two kids. sorry we lost track of each other but i never forgot you and sometimes when i drive up to our home i remember how it was in our young days. perhaps we will meet again, your friend, tom clark, wenatchee, washington

I managed the Stanwood Taco Time for several years and was very lucky to have known Bob. He was not only one of my favorite customers, but also my "Mr. Fix It." He truly did volunteer his time to help others without expecting anything in return. I am sorry to have lost touch with the family over the past year and was even sorrier to hear about the loss of this amazing man. He will be greatly missed.

Bob and I were neighbors and friends as kids and went to school together. I remember him as a caring fun person.

Not at all sure how to say what's in my heart about losing my friend. I'm not family, nor have I known him for the years that I'm sure most of those who will read this have, I'm someone who had the pleasure of getting to know Bob through my work. I meet him soon after I had taken the position and shortly came to adore the man. The very worst of days.. most horrendous conditions.. were no match for his "Screw it. Let's laugh at our misery and thumb our nose at convention" attitude. Mind you, I chose cleaner language than he would have in giving that description. He touched my heart with his loud voice, crass mannerisms, foul jokes, gruff demeanor, and most importantly.. the way he spoke about Carol. My very kindest thoughts go out to his family. I'm going to miss him terribly.

I had a biz in Maltby, always so glad to see Bob, what a cheerful guy. In spite of his problems, always on the upside. Sorry to hear of his passing. Merle Davis, Darrington
