Robert Neil "Bob" Gemkow

1952 - 2017

December 4, 1952 - June 22, 2017 Bob Gemkow passed away on June 22, 2017 following a tragic tractor accident at his cherry orchard in Rock Island, WA. Bob was born in Corpus Christi Texas on December 4, 1952. As a child, his family moved around from Texas to Las Vegas to California, and finally to Everett, WA. Bob married his wife, Carol Faye Hill, on March 20, 1976. They had two boys, Robert Neil "Robby" Gemkow, Jr, and Timothy James "TJ" Gemkow. Bob spent 30 years installing counter tops and floor coverings until he decided to go into agriculture in 2003 and purchased a small cherry orchard in Rock Island, WA. Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Faye Gemkow; his son, TJ Gemkow; mother, Dorothy Gemkow; and brothers, Rick Gemkow and Larry Gemkow. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Gemkow; son, Robby Gemkow; and mother-in-law, Fern Carlson. There will be a memorial service held for Bob on Saturday, July 22, 20170 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Memorial Chapel at 19 Rock Island Rd, East Wenatchee, WA. Following the service, there will be a gathering of friends and family at the home of Howard Carlson, at 1310 Center St. Rock Island, WA.
