Robert Manning Obituary
Robert S. Manning
Robert was born January 24, 1935 the eldest of two sons to Charles S. and Esther T. Manning in Pomona, CA.
He is survived by two sons, Charles S. Manning of Anacortes, WA and David L. Manning of Yakima, WA; and his brother, Gary C. Manning of Green Cove Springs, FL. Robert also has five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 103 N. 5th St., Mount Vernon, WA.

So sorry to hear of Bob's tragic passing. He lived a mile down the road from us and we have known him for years. Prayers and thoughts go out to the family at this sad time.

With diesel smoke and taillights fading in the distance, my friend Bob Manning has out-run me once again. God speed Bob to your heavenly destination. Gabriel is your receiver and eternal serenity is your reward. Gonna miss you on the road, at home, in church, attending Stuck to Unstuck, and just sitting in a chair in a room telling your story, ad infinitum.

After many years of being a business associate, Bob will be greatly missed. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him in person, after 15+ years of phone conversations, I had gotten to know him very well, I will cherish his friendship. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Bob was a presence in our lives from when we all lived in Blaine, to now in Arlington, forty some years later. No one enjoyed telling stories more than Bob, and he will be missed. The sound of a big diesel rig, the friendship over coffee or tea and the endless games of Free Cell will ever remind us of him. He left big shoes to be filled!!
