Robert Phillip Trewhitt Sr.

1937 - 2022

Robert Trewhitt Sr. passed on Friday 17 at home. Born 7/13/1937 to Edward and Nona Sample Trewhitt. Upon graduation from Central High, he married and joined the Air Force. He worked at Cape Canaveral, FL from 1960 to 1971 when he joined the Hughes Glomar Explorer program (on loan from Honeywell Aerospace to Honeywell Marine Systems-Seattle) until it was cancelled in 1975. In 1976 he joined Honeywell Marine Systems in Seattle where he travelled the world installing positioning systems for offshore oil rigs for 8 years. He then joined the Quality Engineering Department where he worked until retirement in February 1997. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Huebschman & sisters, Becky Trewhitt, and Sarah Smith. He is survived by wife, Janet; brother, Stephen Trewhitt; sister, MaryBeth Leamon (Dennis); daughter, Sheryl Trewhitt in Everett, WA; stepdaughters, Jody Knoblich, Edmonds WA; (Nate Mills, Abigail & Jeremiah) Jill Knoblich, Marysville, WA; grandson, Kevin Huebschman; granddaughter, Katie Huebschman, Cleveland, TN; granddaughter, Taylor Cheyenne Trewitt. He was a Knoxville volunteer at Fountain City Ministry Center and Mission of Hope. Known to his friends and co-workers as a hard worker, competent, dependable, and caring.
