Wallace E. Wise

1923 - 2017

Wallace E. Wise Wallace E. (Wally) Wise passed away on October 15, 2017. He was born in Everett, WA, the son of Pearl and Samuel Wise, in 1923. His childhood memories included his one room school house in Alderwood Manor, going to his grandparent's farm in Eastern Washington in the summer, and his time at Everett High School, where he skated with the "Rollicking Rollers" roller skating team. His partner, Eileen Rudeen, would become his wife. They were married while he was on leave just before being shipped to Europe during World War II. He was a son, a WWII soldier, a husband, father, grandfather, banker, Sea Explorer leader, real estate professional, artist, wood carver, sculptor, and friend to many. After Wally retired from banking, he began volunteering at the Giving Tree, where he taught woodworking skills to formerly homeless men who were making toys for kids for some 20 years. His favorite spot on earth though was West Beach, a little undeveloped place West of Oak Harbor, WA, that he found in the late 50s. He bought land there, and spent summer vacations on that beach as his family was growing up. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen in 1979. He is survived by his three children, Gary Wise (Cindy), Teri Ethington (Martin), Jodie Pierzina (Randall), his six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He gave us many gifts, and we will keep those close in our minds and hearts. He will be sorely missed. A Memorial will held on November 19, 2017, for close family and friends.
