Bill monitoring operations at the Seattle EOC during a EmComm Drill

I first met Bill in 2001 after the Nisqually earthquake when I joined Seattle ACS. I wasn't sure what to make of him but it didn't take too long to figure out he was quite knowledgeable in emergency communications. Bill helped to build Seattle ACS (ham radio emergency communications) into what it is today and I will always be thankful for the knowledge that he passed on to every one. After Seattle ACS we both had moved on to the Snohomish County ACS group. During our travels to meetings and training sessions I got the opportunity to know Bill even more and all those trips will be missed but never forgotten. Thank you Bill for being a great friend and ham radio enthusiast.

Bill was my first and greatest mentor in computing. Not only was he an excellent technician and teacher, but his enthusiasm for life was an inspiration.
Even in times of great stress, he always had a smile hiding underneath.
He may be gone, but my memories of him will always be with me.

Rest easy my friend.
I learned much more than system programming from you. You showed by example how to be a decent human being.
