William Mallory Dockstader
July 20, 1943 - April 19, 2010

Bill went home to God after a long fight against the effects of Agent Orange exposure. The eldest son of John Dockstader and Edna Elizabeth Dockstader, Bill was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, and grew up in Hopkinton, Massachusetts where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of Maine. He served in the United States Army where he attained the rank of Captain and was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Viet Nam.
Bill enjoyed a successful career as a computer genius and blessed his family with this expertise. Bill and Linda married April 23, 1988 and enjoyed over 20 years of wedded bliss.
Bill achieved his Federal Amateur Radio Operator's license at the age of 12 and was a life-long "ham". He served the City of Seattle for over 13 years as a management-level volunteer with the Office of Emergency Management, leading a group of "hams" providing emergency communications to the city. He loved astronomy and weather science, folk music, doughnuts, and his dog, Contessa. Bill was gifted with a lovely baritone voice which he shared with his church and family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda; his brothers, Bruce and David; his sister, Deborah; his nephews, Tad, Ben and John; and his niece, Liane.
Interment with Honors takes place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 30, at Tahoma National Cemetery. Memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, May 1, at Mukilteo Presbyterian Church, 4514 84th Street SW, Mukilteo, WA 98275.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of your choice or to the Boy Scouts Chief Seattle Council, 3120 Rainier Ave. South, Seattle, WA 98144.
