Marc C. Abdow

Marc Christopher Abdow, of Fall River, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 5, 2021. He was 50 years old. After many years of challenging medical issues and hospitalizations, Marc is at rest. He was the cherished son of Elaine (Carleton) Abdow of No. Dartmouth, MA and George M. Abdow, Jr. of Fall River, MA. His much loved daughter, Kylie Lynn Abdow resides in Swansea, MA. After graduating from Dartmouth High School in 1988, Marc worked in the construction field for several years before obtaining his favorite job, that of Program Coordinator for the Solanus Casey Food Pantry | Catholic Social Services in New Bedford, MA. He loved helping those in need and had a special affinity for children and the elderly. It brought much joy when his daughter would volunteer her time to his program. Together they worked many U.S. Postal Food Drives, collecting thousands of pounds of food to help stamp out hunger in the greater New Bedford area. Marc had a love of the outdoors and animals. Retiring due to his disability someone at his office asked "who will feed the birds now?" It was part of his daily ritual to ensure that his feathered friends were taken cared of. He never met an animal he didnt like. Besides his parents and adored daughter, Marc leaves two aunts, Paula Rego and Virginia Morin, close cousins Kerrie, Javier and Justlee Pessoa, Jason DArrigo and other extended family members. It was Marcs wish that there was no wake or service. Arrangements are under the care of Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, MA. To those of you who always inquired about Marcs well-being, his family is forever grateful. It would mean so much to Marc and his family if you would perform a random act of kindness and/or contribute to a local food pantry or animal shelter.
