Barbara (Klein) Murray, 89, of Dartmouth died Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Hathaway Manor after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Anthony Murray.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Max and Grace (Vargas) Klein, she lived in Dartmouth for most of her life.
Barbara was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and an active member of the DHS Alumni Association with her class. She was a founding member of Dartmouth Girl's Little League, where she coached youth for many years. She was also a longtime waitress at various local restaurants.
Barbara enjoyed sitting in the sun, working on her tan. She also enjoyed traveling, romance novels, and watching movies with popcorn.
She is survived by five children, Michael John Murray and his wife Susan of Lakeville, Maureen Ann Rogers and her husband Brian of Dartmouth, Mark Anthony Murray of Tiverton, Mary Jane Murray of Fairhaven, and Melissa Murray-Sowden and her husband Mark of Marion; four grandchildren, Meghan Lyne Rogers and her husband Steven Plourde, Courtney Beth Rogers, Ian James Correia, and Abby May Saba; her great-granddaugher, Sybil Rogers-Plourde; her brother, Max Klein, Jr.; her sister, Erika Pereira; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
