Lorraine, I know of no one I hold in higher esteem than your precious mother. Agnes was a great friend, role model and inspiration, during our years at NewKirk particularly. Let's not overlook Furman, who was a fine man, also. Our town will be the poorer now for having lost the beauty and spirit of Agnes Nell Carnes; but Heaven is so much richer. God bless you as you deal with your loss!

Ms. Agnes will always be a lasting example of how we should approach serving our fellow man as she did at Hope. May we continue to further her legacy. May God be with you, her family, and grant you the peace of knowing that she is with her Lord as she wanted.

As a small child in foster care, I attended church with her. She was my Sunday School Teacher. The only thing I remembered from those early years, was the kindness and love she showed to me. When I was reunited with my birth family, I was also reunited with her. She was and will always remain a big blessing in my life.
