YORK - Mr. Alvin Andrew “Andy” Propst, 53, of 778 Sutton Springs Road, York, S.C., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. He died the way he lived his life, surrounded by family and friends.
Born Feb. 11, 1959, in York, S.C., he was a son of the late William Earl “Bud” Propst Sr. and Mrs. Frances Oneida Parker Propst. He was a member of Kings Mountain Chapel UMC, a Sunday school teacher and served on several boards. He was also the owner of Propst Construction and a member and past president of the Lion Club.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by three brothers, Bryan, Albert and Frank Propst and a nephew, Jay.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen; three sons, Kirk, Jake and Christopher; two daughters, Erica Clark (Zach) and Andrea; four stepchildren, Kyle, CJ, Aleigha Hext and Amber Vannordstrand; seven grandchildren; one brother and best friend, Bill; two sisters, Robin and Bonita; as well as a host of nieces and nephews who cherished their “Uncle Andy.”
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at Kings Mountain Chapel UMC in York. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Andy touched our hearts with his compassion and his love for the Lord. We will miss him in our Christmas programs and every event we have. We rejoice that he is with our Lord, no doubt!
