Benny Williams

Benny C. Williams, Sr. ROCK HILL - Mr. Benny C. Williams, Sr., 89, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at his home. The funeral service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, March 18, 2016, at Neely's Creek ARP Church with Rev. Jan Senneker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2pm at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Lesslie, SC, Mr. Williams was a son of the late Ernest Fennell Williams and the late Jenny Irene Thomasson Williams. He was a 1943 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a US Army Air Force veteran of WWII. He was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing with over 42 years of service. Mr. Williams was a life long member of Neely's Creek ARP Church serving as an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher and grounds keeper for over 40 years. He helped start the Lesslie Volunteer Fire Department and served there for many years. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Ruby Lee Little Williams; his children, Jenny W. Cole (William), Katie Williams, Benny "BJ" Williams (Anne) and Ernie Williams, all of Rock Hill and Susan W. Hinson (Sonny) of Van Wyck; his sister, Anna Kate Leslie of Rock Hill; six grandchildren, Derrick Worthy (Heather), Lee Korbus, Marie Leary (Allen), April Deal (Robbie), Jason Tinkler (Donna) and Trent Tinkler; and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding Mr. Williams in death were his brothers, Herbert, Nat, Steve, Ernest, Frank and Charles Williams; and his sister, Marguerite Williams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Williams' name to Neely's Creek ARP Church, Cemetery Fund or General Fund, 974 Neely's Creek Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
