Carlie Sharpe Torreyson

May 15, 1932 - August 10, 2024

Greensboro, North Carolina - Mrs. Carlie Sharpe Torreyson, 92 of Rock Hill, SC passed away at Harmony at Greensboro Assisted Living. She joined her husband, Kyle Torreyson, and her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Carlie was born May 15, 1932 and graduated from Alamance High in 1950. She was a homemaker and worked for Dr Howard Little in Gibsonville for a few years. Carlie loved the Lord and was very faithful to Him and to Neely's Creek ARP Church. She loved her church family and many dear friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Stewart Puckett (Bobby) of McLeansville, NC; her son, Dalmer (George) Carl Stewart (Sue) of Catawba, SC; and her daughter-in-law, Jean Stewart of Gibsonville, NC; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Jennie) Shively (Jeff) of Richmond, VA, Bobbie Feraco (David) of Durham, NC, Katie Morgan (Justin) of Brown Summit, NC, Bobby Gene Stewart of Gibsonville, NC, Jeremiah (Rebecca) Stewart of Seagrave, NC, Jonathan Stewart (Ronna) of Graham, NC, James Stewart (Chassity) of Julian, NC, Carlie Powell (Rod Fiancé) of Rock Hill, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Dianne Cross and brothers, Grady Sharpe, John Sharpe and Rickey Sharpe.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kyle Torreyson, Jr. (Rassie) on January 18, 1987; son, Delbert McCray Stewart on March 8, 2019; grandson, Delbert McCray Stewart, Jr. on November 25, 2021 as well as her brothers, Coy Sharpe, Roy Sharpe and Jerry Bain Sharpe. She was also predeceased by her parents, Jennie Kate Sharpe and Roy Eugene Sharpe.

A special thank you to the staff at Harmony at Greensboro for the wonderful way they took care of Carlie for 2 years and 5 months. They showed her love and support and were all compassionate to her. Also, thank you to Authora Care of Greensboro for the help they all were to the family.

A special thank you to Jimmy McWaters for the way he took care of Carlie and Kathy for the last 15 years. We really appreciate you for all the work and time you have devoted to the Torreyson family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:00-11:45 am at Neely's Creek ARP Church, 974 Neely's Creek Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730. A Celebration of Life will be held for Carlie on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 12:00 noon with Reverend Matt Joldersma officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Carlie's name to Neely's Creek ARP Church.
