Christopher Barker Obituary
A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill with Rev. Scott Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Born in Rock Hill, Christopher "Crispy" was a son of Dr. Glenn Barker and Jean Couick Barker of Hilton Head Island. He was a 2005 graduate of Northwestern High School and then graduated from SCAD in Savannah, GA in sound design and film. He worked on his Masters degree at San Francisco School of Arts. He was very active in the Rock Hill Community Theatre, the Fort Mill Community Playhouse and the Main Street Community Theatre in Hilton Head and he loved music, history, art, reading and politics. He had many friends and family who he would want to know how much he loved them.
In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by his brothers, Michael Wicker (Tina) of Rock Hill, Michael Barker (Jackie) of Columbia and Kevin Wicker of Wilmington, NC; and his sisters, Laura Barker (Chas) of Rock Hill, Oxana Moore (Daniel) of Rustburg, VA and Nadia Barker of Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Christohper's name to the Rock Hill Community Theatre, PO Box 4464, Rock Hill, SC 29732; or the Fort Mill Community Playhouse, PO Box 354, Fort Mill, SC 29716.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Chris. I've known him Chris since we attended Mt. Gallant Elementary School to graduating from Northwestern. It was good seeing him last year at our 10 year reunion. One memory I have of him was him singing "My Heart Will Go On" in a talent show at Mt. Gallant. Peace and blessings to you all!

I had the privilege of spending numerous years and Summers selling shoes with Chris at the Cobbler's Bench. Truly one of the most sincere and thoughtful people I have ever met. It was always such a treat to cross paths with him over the holidays in rock hill and we were able to pick up just where we left off. We have lost a good one and he will always have a special place in my heart! Thanks for introducing me to Lady GaGa.

I will never forget your spirit or your voice. I will never forget how much you put everything into loving and learning from your idols of song. I always admired your ability to just belt out a song any time any where in front of anyone. Crispy was my cousin and also a great friend! He will be missed by all! He was very artistic and talented in his love of music and the theater. I will miss our conversations.
