ROCK HILL - Mrs. Clara Bell McCullough Feely, 82, of 723 Douglas Street, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at home.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Nazareth Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael A. McClain officiating, the Rev. Dr. Osbey Roddey delivering the eulogy, and the Rev. Dr. John T. McCoy and the Rev. Matthew L. Browning assisting. Interment will be at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Catawba.
Born July 12, 1929, in Chester County, S.C., Mrs. Feely attended the public schools of Chester County and in 1975, she was awarded her high school diploma from the Rock Hill School District. She worked as cook and dietitian for Rock Hill School District Three for 24 years. At retirement, she landed a part-time job at the York County Solicitor's Office, where she continued to work until her death.
At an early age, Clara joined Nazareth Baptist Church, Rock Hill, S.C. After marriage, she joined Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Catawba, S.C., and was active in the Deaconess Ministry, YAH (Young at Heart), Musical Choir, Concert Choir, the Kitchen Ministry, and Adult Sunday School.
Mrs. Feely was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Corrie Lee Feely Sr.; her parents, Mr. Ben and Janie Bell Hicks McCullough; Eliza McCullough, Marie McCullough Hope, Martha McCullough Tyler Miller and Earlene McCullough Beaty; granddaughter, Rose Michelle Hall; and daughter-in-law, Regina Stevenson Feely McDuffie.
She leaves to cherish loving memories her devoted children, Bobby Feely, Sonny (Marion) Feely, Corrie Feely Jr., Clara (Kim) Feely Gray and Jacqueline Deloris Feely, all of Rock Hill, Vernon Feely of Columbus, Ga., and Donald (Sherry) Feely of Holly Springs, N.C.; a great-nephew, Van Julius Stitt III of Baker's Field, Calif.; a dear friend and “adopted mother,” Gladys Hurley Boulware of Las Vegas, Nev.; brothers, Ben McCullough of Eastland, Md., John McCullough of Morristown, N.J., Willie Lewis (Steveanna) McCullough of Madison, N.J., James Frank (Linda) McCullough of Dover, N.J., and Robert (Shelia) McCullough of Stanhope, N.J.; sisters, Annie Jane McCullough Forbes and Helen (Lewis) McCullough Oguje of Dover, N.J., Mary McCullough Boyce of Rockaway, N.J., Ruby McCullough of Morristown, N.J.; brothers-in-law, Odell Hope Sr., Willie Beaty Sr., and DJ Miller of Rock Hill; two sisters-in-law, Pearlene Feely Barber and Beulah Feely Barber of Rock Hill; 13 grandchildren, Sekari Feely, LeTonia Feely Gladden, LaKeisha Feely, Stephanie Feely, E'onswaye Feely, DiChali Feely, Kellen Gray, Kimberly Gray, Jabira Feely, Ja'Reginald Feely, Corrie Feely III, Bobby Strong and Donald Strong; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; extended family and friends; and a devoted neighbor, Estelle White.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home, and other times at the home.

I had the Honor and Privilage of knowing Ms Clara and working with her for 2 years. There is not a day that didnt go by, that I would walk into the Solicitors Office and she be sitting there with a smile upon her face. She will be missed ever so dearly and it is our loss but Heaven's Gain.
