Danny Allsopp Obituary

FORT MILL - Mr. Danny Eugene Allsopp, 70, of 1645 Merritt Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Fort Mill, with the Rev. Ralph Riley officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.

A native of Herrin, Ill., Mr. Allsopp was a son of the late Kenneth Brown Allsopp and Opal Marie Fortner. He retired from CSI and was an Army veteran. He was also a member of the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves. He loved to hunt and was an avid bass fisherman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Mill. He also loved to restore old cars and compete in car shows where he won many trophies. He loved to build and fly remote controlled air planes.He was a member of the Po Boy's Prop Twisters Flying Club. He loved to watch old westerns and Tom & Jerry Cartoons with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Merritt Allsopp; one son, Richard LeRoy Allsopp; one daughter, Janet Allsopp Brown (Brian); one brother, Bennie Lee Allsopp Sr.; one sister, Pamela Sue Ourada; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Allsopp Jr., and a brother, Gary Alan Allsopp.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 121 Monroe White St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.
