David Lieb Obituary

David Lieb
December 29, 1941 - May 7, 2023
York, South Carolina - Mr. David Allen Lieb, Sr., 81, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the Lake Wylie Assisted Living Community.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at All Saints Catholic Church, with Father John Giuliani officiating. There will be a small reception following at the church. Burial will be private.
Born in Champaign, IL, Mr. Lieb was the son of the late Frederick John Lieb and the late Katheryn Sullivan Lieb. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Verla Lieb; his brother, Keith Lieb; his sister, Sharon Freeman; and his stepson, Michael Egan. He was a US Navy veteran serving during Vietnam as a submarine repair mechanic. He was employed with DMP as a design engineer for over 20 years and was a CNA with Hospice & Community Care for 9 years.
He was a devoted member of All Saints Catholic Church in Lake Wylie and was a religious education and confirmation teacher at St. Anne and St. Philip Neri Catholic Churches. He donated many hours at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen and was known for his generosity, his heart of gold and he would help children, animals and anyone in need.
He loved nature, the mountains and the oceans. He was a great son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Sweetheart, you have taken a piece of my heart with you and one day my heart will become whole again when I see you face to face in heaven! May you be in God's love and may peace be with you after all you suffered through so many years with Alzheimers disease.
Surviving are his darling wife of 29 years, Janet "Jan" Connell Lieb; his daughter, Missy Lieb Yarborough; three sons, David Lieb, Jr., Freddy Lieb, and William Lieb; two stepdaughters, Debra Veal and Lisa Egan; three brothers, Dale Lieb, Dick Lieb, and Kenny Lieb; his sister, Marsha Smith; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also had many great friends and was loved by all. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Many thanks and appreciation for the dedicated Homewatch homecare givers, Agape Hospice and Lake Wylie Senior Living for the love and dignity shown to my dear husband, especially Sharon, Julia, Tammy & Morgan. May God bless you for your dedication and devotion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Lieb's name to the Alzheimer's Association Research, 4600 Park Road, Ste 250, Charlotte, NC 28209; or to All Saints Catholic Church, 530 Highway 274, Lake Wylie, SC 29710.
