Dot GilfillanHICKORY GROVE - Dorothy "Dot" Huffstetler Gilfillan, 82, of Hickory Grove, S.C., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at her home in Hickory Grove. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Linda Dunn and Tommy Hope officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in Hickory Grove. Dot was a daughter of the late Lonnie Huge Huffstetler and Lydia Randall Huffstetler. She was a graduate of Hickory Grove High School. She retired in 1993, after co-owning Moss Fish Camp in Hickory Grove. Dot was an active member at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, where she served as President of the UMC Women for many years. She was also a Sunday school teacher and held a number of other offices in the church. Dot was loved by many. She was a wonderful wife, mother, cook and a friend to all. She was a very special lady. She is survived by her husband, Calvin C. Gilfillan of Hickory Grove; daughters, Debbie Gilfillan (Joe) of Hickory Grove, Faye Culp (Steve) of Chester, S.C., Sandy G. McQueen (Bob) of Easley, S.C., and Rita G. Bratton (Tommie) of Hickory Grove; sons, Terry A. Moss (DeAnna) of Charleston, S.C., and Gene Moss (Cheryl) of Hickory Grove; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Dot was preceded in death by son, Ricky Dean Moss.
