SHALIMAR, FL - Mrs. Mary E. Allison, 76, formerly of Clover, S.C., passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Born September 29, 1935, in York County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Mildred Davis Byrd. She was the widow of Mr. Bobby E. Allison.
She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Clover and worked as a licensed cosmetologist. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 63, Grand Chapter of Maryland. Mrs. Allison was also a faithful member of Flat Rock Baptist Church in Clover.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda McClary (Rick) of Woodbridge, Va.; two sons, Kelvin Allison (Danita) of Washington, D.C., and Tino Allison (Angelia) of Rock Hill, S.C.; five grandchildren; one brother, Willie Byrd (Loretta) of Gastonia, N.C.; one sister, Daisy Lewis of Charlotte, N.C.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Campbell of Clover.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Clover. In honor of Mrs. Allison’s love of hats, ladies attending the funeral are kindly requested to wear a hat. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm, Monday, May 7, 2012, at Wright Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Tino Allison, 1757 Hardy Drive, Rock Hill, S.C.
