Mary Rayfield Obituary
A memorial service for Mrs. Rayfield will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Ebenezer ARP Church, 2132 Ebenezer Road with Rev. Matt Allison and Dr. Mel Wines officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until time of service Thursday at the church.
Born in York County on November 15, 1929, Mary Jo was the daughter of Joe Clayborn and Luella Wallace Smith of Beth-Shiloh. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Rayfield, Sr.; her sisters, Anna Smith, Helen Dunlap, Martha Smith, and Dorothy Love, and her brother, John Ed Smith.
Mrs. Rayfield is survived by her brother, Bob Smith (Ruth); her sister, Sarah Harkey; her daughter, Susan R. Campbell (Dana); her son, Robert C. Rayfield, Jr. (Nancy Mounts-Rayfield); her three grandchildren, Clay Campbell (Christie), Joe Campbell, and Kelly Campbell-Davis (Jantzen); and her two great-grandchildren, Parker Campbell and Tessa Davis, all of Rock Hill.
Mary Jo retired as a Rock Hill middle school teacher after 28 years. A loving supportive mother who grew "The Best Darn Home Grown Tomatoes" was also a gifted mentor who influenced many lives in York County with her positive "can do" approach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1639 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or a charity of your choice.

Bobby & Nancy, I just found out about the death of Mary Jo.. I am so sorry! It is sort of bittersweet that they will be together but I know it has to be a sad time for your family. My thoughts are with you.
