Paul Jordan Obituary

Paul Andrew Jordan

June 6, 1956 - December 20, 2023

ROCK HILL, South Carolina - Paul Andrew Jordan was a force of nature. It was good to be Paul, and it was good to know him. His personal motto was, "Often wrong, but never in doubt", and he lived life with a confidence and optimism that were contagious. Publicly brash and privately sentimental, he was a source of relentless joy and unconditional love for those close to him.

Paul was born in Rock Hill and graduated from Rock Hill High School. He was quick to help others and build community wherever he went, most recently with his neighbors at Riverwalk. A devoted father and grandfather, his eyes glowed with pride around his family.

Paul lost his second battle with cancer on December 20, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Libby, children Jenny, David (Nicole), and Alice, and grandchildren Leila, David, and Penelope.

Please come by the Grapevine, Riverwalk on Friday December 22nd, 4p-6p to raise a glass to Paul and celebrate his life with his family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen in Rock Hill or donate platelets for people battling cancer everywhere.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Always fun playing eucher with Paul and Libby

Paul was my sales rep for over 10 years and he was a pleasure to work with. Being that Paul was based out of the south my account is in Ohio, at one point I was transferred to a different sales rep but that was short lived as I insisted that Paul keep my account as his knowledge, experience, and personality were irreplaceable. His numerous phrases and one liners always made me smile and we would always poke fun at each other. I enjoyed grabbing a bite to eat at our local Jewish Deli and shooting the breeze with him every time he was in town. His southern charm mixed with his non-nonsense approach was refreshing for us northerners and I always enjoyed his company. He will be missed.

Libby and family, so sorry for your loss.

I met Paul when I was 15y and he was 17y. We were charter members of the Piedmont Peddlars together with Bill Hilton Jr and Paul Neal and rode together often, including the SC state championships a couple of times and also the inaugural Dilworth Jubilee in Charlotte, must have been 1974-75 or so.

I remember that he worked with Stan at the Bicycle Center of RH on Cherry Road for a while (right across from the Coca Cola bottling plant). Super nice guy that I remember well, even though it has been 50y since we rode together.

I still have the bike that I rode with Paul.

RIP. So sorry that he had passed.

Libby and family, we were blessed to have known Paul for such a short time and in that time we saw what a kind and loving spirit he had. Always smiling and positive in thoughts and deeds, he will be missed and especially by his cigar buddy! Wished we had known him longer and feel we missed out on more of his colorful personality! The world needs more Pauls!

Paul was one of a kind. A true, genuine heart with a kind word for everyone he encountered. My parents purchased my first purple racing bicycle when I was 15 years old. He rode with me as an adult and taught me how to cycle clipped in to pedals.... And laughed when I fell so I wouldn´t cry! He was a neighbor, friend, fierce fighter of cancer, and best dad to Zeek. Condolences to Libby and Jenny.
