Will and I were good friends at VHS though, regrettably, we lost touch after our college years. I'm so saddened to hear of his passing. Whether it was a basketball game, a classroom, or a social gathering, Will always energized the occasion and, thanks to him, I've a lot of fond memories of those days. My most heartfelt condolences to his family. Rest in peace, my friend.

This is to Cary, Andrew, and Sally,
I am the manager for Red Rocket Fireworks in Columbia. Will would always come and do a pick up when we were busy. He always had the smile when I couldn't find one, the words to make me feel better and the assurance that "EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT". His smile was infectious and one that I looked forward to each season. I and my employees will surely miss his presence during the seasons. It will never be the same. He was such a positive and caring person. My heart and prayers go out to you all. He was such a lovable man. I know God only takes the best and the best is what Will is.

I knew Will for four years through his work with Anna's Linens. During this time he was my favorite rep out of the dozens I work with. Sometimes he drove me crazy, but only because he was so good at what he did. I learned of his passing with a heavy heart and can honestly say my work will not be the same without his Friday afternoon calls to review our shipments. He always joked about drinking a Guinness while I (being on the West coast) had hours more of work left.
Cary, Andrew and Sally, while I've never had the pleasure of meeting you, know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Will was a truly great guy and will be missed.

Cary, Sally and Andrew...Jane and I were in shock when Steve Heyen called us several days ago. I haven't talked to Will in several years, but he was so proud of his marriage and kids. He has left so many wonderful memories from a wonderful time at Illinois College. Will was one of a kind and I can't imagine anyone replacing him on this Earth...so we'll have to keep him in our hearts and minds. We pray for peace for the Family and for the day we will all meet together, XP.

I only met Will a few times, usually at our company board meeting which he served as a member, but as those that knew him can attest, he made me feel that I had known him a long time. I could tell he was an intelligent person but what I remember the most about him was his humor and the fact he cared about other people. To all his family, I wish there were words that would ease your pain. As someone once said, he may be gone but never forgotten, this is true of Will. Please know you have our greatest sympathy.

Cary, Andrew, and Sally
I've never had a better friend than Will. He was smart, caring, and always there for me. I will miss him so very much. We spoke every week, even when he was in China.
Andrew and Sally, I want you to know that Will had every confidence in your decisions and future. He loved you very much and spoke often of your accomplishments and caring spirits.
Cary I'm very sorry that physically I can not make it there. I am tremendously weak with the disease and know that Will would understand. Please know that his heart was always on you and that he would want you to live life in faith and happiness. God bless each of you and may the Peace of Christ be with you in this sorrowful time.
With love,

It’s a sad day. Will felt that friendships are not to be taken lightly, and that real friends are hard to come by. I count Will as a real friend, and one of the great ones. Will's directness, and clarity scared some, and may have offended others, but those that understood him knew that his honesty was born of character and integrity. If he said it, it was true, and I for one always valued what Will had to say. I used to joke that Will should have been in Human Resources. Every recommendation that he ever gave me for a new sales hire rose to the top. Will really understood people and was one of the few who could see right through a charade. I always looked forward to having lunch with Will, or a beer after work. There have been plenty of laughs along the way, and I will be saddened by the sound of silence. He will be greatly missed.
