Anne grew up in Oak Park, Ill., and eventually ended up going to high school in Adrian, Mich. During her time in Adrian, her calling to become an Adrian Dominican Nun came to fruition. As a nun, Anne "Sister Marita" was able to do the thing she loved the most, which was educating children!
Her passion for teaching was shared at many Catholic schools around the state of Michigan. Though her time as a nun came to an end, her passion for teaching continued on. She worked for another 30 years as a dedicated Montessori teacher for Benton Harbor Public Schools until her retirement.
Anne is survived by her sisters: Mary (Leo) Momany, Barbara (Edward) Schmitt; nephews: Brenden (Kate) O'Leary, Brian (Katie) Schmitt, R. Matthew Schmitt, Mark (Lauren) Schmitt; eight grand-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tom (Barb) Strzyzykowski, and Jean Rodgers.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents.
