Mrs. Viola Daniels was born Aug. 25, 1934, to the late Jessie and Linnie McGee in Blytheville, Ark.
Her family moved to Benton Harbor in 1949. She met and fell in love with the late Gus Daniels, and was married in 1968.
She was a homemaker, raising three girls and six boys. She had a passion for music, cooking and shopping. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and was a member of Progressive Baptist Church in Benton Harbor.
She will be remembered for her big heart and great love of family and friends. Viola departed this life on June 13, 2021, at Riveridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Niles.
She leaves behind fond memories in the hearts of her children, Elnora (Lewis) Clayborn of Benton Harbor, Diana (Steve) Plunkette of Milwaukee, Clarence (Tammy) Potts of Benton Harbor, Jessie (Angie) Daniels of Milwaukee, Augusta (Brenda) Daniels of Benton Harbor, Johnnie (Gleanda) Daniels of Benton Harbor, Carl (Tawana) Daniels of Indianapolis, Pervis (Wana) Daniels of Battle Creek; sister, Marva Pullen of Benton Harbor; a special grandson, Michael Daniels; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Linnie McGee; husband, Gus Daniels; daughter, Ora Daniels; brothers, James Glespie, Willie Glespie, Joe McGee and Jack McGee; sisters, Oleatha Walls, Lulamae Albert and Thonia Harris.
Funeral services for Viola Daniels as well as her daughter, Ora, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Second Baptist Church in Benton Harbor, with a time of visitation beginning at 10 a.m. A committal service will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens.
