Dear Calista,
For some reason, while awaiting Hurricane Dorian, I thought of the wonderful man I worked for when he was Deputy Chief of Mission in Caracas, Venezuela. I googled Richard Bartlett Moon and was shocked to see that he had passed away in March. He was the kindest, most courteous man I ever encountered in the Foreign service. He was a true gentlemen who cared about obtaining the goals of the United States Government in its dealings with Venezuela. I feel most fortunate for having known and worked for him. Calista, you were both so happy together. It is most difficult to fathom your loss. Please know that my heart goes out to you, Claudia and Keith. God Bless you as you begin this painful journey.
