October 27, 1936 - September 10, 2025

Cary, North Carolina - Shirley Holland Edwards, 88, of Cary, died Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

The visitation will be Monday, 6:00-7:30 PM, at Greenwood Forest Baptist Church, 110 SE Maynard Rd, Cary. A graveside service will be Tuesday, 11:00 AM, at the Kenly Cemetery, 610 W 2nd St, Kenly NC 27542.

Mrs. Edwards was a graduate of Rock Ridge High School. She moved to Cary in 1964 and was a member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed family gatherings, going to the beach and spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband William B. Edwards, Jr.; daughter, Amy Clawson (Charles) of Apex; grandchildren, Connor, Evan, and Charle Clawson, and Mallory Long (Tanner); great-grandson, Grey Long; sister, Dorothy Watkins of Kenly; sisters-in-law, Jean Holland of Kenly and Bobbie Holland of Smithfield; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Victoria Atkinson Holland; sisters, Inez Young (Bill) and Ethel Daffin (Ed); brothers, Paul Holland and Preston Holland; brother-in-law, Roger Watkins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Greenwood Forest Baptist Church, 110 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511
