I met Alan through his wife Judi when she came to work with my son and me. Throughout the time of knowing Alan, he was always a gentleman; kind, thoughtful, and genuine. He was in command at all times with a gentle, quiet knowingness. He had much in common with his dog Matt; friendly and easy on one hand, and focused with intention on the other. In my opinion, Alan could always be counted on to "do the right thing." He was an exceptional man. He made a beautiful cake, and was a skilled artist. He was also one tough cop along with being an excellent husband and father. He was one of a kind, an inspiration, a mentor.

Judy, In the short time we met you and Alan, there seemed to be a 'special' bond. We weren't able to see you often enough but you were always in our thoughts and prayers. Alan will be sadly missed and we pray for God to give you strength during this time and forever. He has now gone Home and will suffer no more. God Bless you and your family, all our Love, Bill and Chris

Dear Judi & Family,
We are so saddened by your loss. What a true gem Alan was. He was one of the kindest, sweetest man I have ever known. I am grateful we were able to have a few laughs with him at our office christmas party and as I look around at all the wonderful thoughtful crafts he has made it makes me appreciate them even more. May God comfort you and help you get through this difficult time. We love you deeply and are here for you. With deepest sympathy,

The first time we met "our" Alan was when Judi brought him over to our house for dinner. He was a "little" younger than us in years, but an old soul in heart and a great guy, and he learned a lot about the generation gap that night. He left our table and on the way home had to ask Judi who Gene Pitney was. From then on he became a Gene Pitney fan and also a regular at our table (although he always did like ZZ Top!!)Since that time we've had many great nights, many great dinners and many many great laughs. When Alan became ill he remained the same sweet guy and never complained about his lot in life. He was a fighter and just tackled one setback after another. It has been a long hard road for both Judi and Alan over the last few years. She has put her whole heart into taking the best care of him and has been by his side through the whole ordeal. They were a team together and always kept their sense of humour even at the worst of times. In the months to come we will have dinner together again at our home and we will mourn our dear friend, drink to his strengths, play "24 Hours From Tulsa" at full volume and sing along at the top of our lungs so that perhaps where ever Alan may be he will hear us. We will miss our friend dearly. Sue & Pete Robertson

Alan is a bright light that has moved on to illuminate another dimension with his smile, gleam and beautiful temperament. One always felt accepted and appreciated in his company. A void will be left but, those who feel it will be reminded. They are richer because he entered their path.
