Feb. 4, 1929 - April 6, 2010
Bobby Joe "BJ" Wade, 81, of Sarasota, died April 6, 2010.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, Colonial Chapel. A graveside service with military honors will be at noon Monday at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
Survivors include his three daughters, Julia Boyd of Sarasota, Tracie of Conover, N.C., and Kristen of Sarasota; a son, Robert of Sarasota; a sister, Jeanne Harris of Ohio; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Thank you for the example you set for those of us in Platoon 310 at MCRD San Diego in 1959. I later also served at the Depot as an instructor, but primarily to teach solid state electronics. I remember recruit training very clearly...much was asked knowing as you did that much more would be required in VietNam. Thank you, sir, for the example you set.

SSgt BJ Wade was the senior instructor of Platoon 310 MCRDSD during my recruit training there in 1959. Honor platoon of the series. I went on
to become general counsel of General Dynamics corporation the USAs largest defense contractor in a legal career that spanned 60 years. He made us proud.

Bobby and I both served as Warrant Officers in Army Intelligence. He was a true friend. I feel much better just having known him. Sadly missed by Malcolm and Jan Elliott, Sarasota, FL

I met BJ while I was married to Don Hoogland in Sarasota. BJ was a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.

B.J. and I go back a long time in the Corps. He was a great Marine, Patriot and friend. I will miss him greatly. RIP my friend and Semper Fi up there.

Bobby Wade was afriend and Gentleman. Always willing to help afriend in time of need. Tho in poor health he still possed a sense of humor. He will be sorrly missed by all his comrades at VFW 3233 and the Marine Corp Bunker. RIP my noble friend. LEO H. LALONE SR (Ret USA)

I worked for and with BJ at Equifax and we became the very best of friends. I was proud to know him and if I ever had a "hero" he would be the first on this list! God bless him and make a special place for him in your Military branch up there in heaven.
