Married for 60 years to the love of his life, Pauline (Duckett), with whom he shared two children, three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
Charles was a graduate of Westtown School, Wesleyan University, and Harvard Business School, Specialist 5 in the US Army, and Treasurer of Ocean Spray. His lifelong love of learning made him a fount of knowledge and a worthy adversary in any debate. A truly kind-hearted man, he considered (nearly) everyone he met to be a potential friend.
After family, his passions were sailing, music, and theater. He will be fondly remembered by those who worked and played beside him: at Rochester Community Players, for his rubber faces and willingness to play any part; at Plymouth Yacht Club, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary, for his exceptional sailing skills; at Second Congregational Church for his unerring ear and musical ability; and by all for his good humor and zest for life.
In his Third Act at Sunnyside Christian Retirement Community, he was an active member of the Singers, Players, and Yacht Club..
He leaves behind his wife Pauline, sister Virginia Dulany, brother-in-law Ed Duckett and wife Dot, daughter Linda Pyke and husband Adrian, son Paul Dulany and wife Deb Coon, granddaughter Lily Koutnik and husband Randall, grandson Ben Pyke, grandson Liam Dulany, and great-granddaughter Gwendolyn Koutnik.
