Dr. Marley (Clarence) Dulany, a cherished figure in the community of White Rock, New Mexico, passed away on September 23, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on October 25, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, to Clarence Marley Dulany, Sr. and Myrtle Jones Dulany, Marley dedicated his life to the practice of veterinary medicine and the wellbeing of animals. Together with his beloved wife, Anne, whom he cherished for 58 years, he ran a successful veterinary clinic that became a trusted resource for local pet owners.
Marley’s academic journey began at Sul Ross University, where he not only excelled in his studies but also showcased his competitive spirit by participating on the rodeo team as a runner-up at the National Championships in 1965. He later continued his education at Texas A&M, earning a DVM in Veterinary Medicine, solidifying his commitment to animal care and welfare.
A true outdoorsman, Marley enjoyed fishing, hunting, and skiing in the breathtaking landscapes of Northern New Mexico, where he also worked as a ski instructor. His zest for life extended beyond his professional accomplishments; he treasured the time spent in nature and the moments shared with family and friends.
In 1974, Marley and Anne made the significant decision to relocate to Los Alamos, New Mexico, where they would continue to forge lasting bonds within their community. Marley’s legacy is carried on by his loving family, which includes his devoted wife, Anne; his son Christopher and daughter-in-law Olivia; his son Travis and daughter-in-law Abby; and his three granddaughters, Grace, Ellison, and Charlotte. Marley also leaves behind his treasured dog, Missy.
Friends and family will gather for burial services on October 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Restlawn Cemetery in El Paso, TX as they honor a man who touched many lives through his compassion, dedication, and love for his family, animals and the outdoors. Marley's influence will undoubtedly be felt for years to come, remembered fondly by all who knew him. A deep gratitude is felt for the care Marley received from the Los Alamos Visiting Nurses.
The family wishes to gather after the burial service for some lunch and storytelling, most likely at Julio's of El Paso. Further details will be shared graveside.
