Memories and Condolences

Not sure what to say?

March 10, 2010

I've read the wonderful tributes given for Denise and thought everyone had pretty much said it all but then I remember seeing her at a nearby plaza just a couple months ago and she told me about her illness. She was smiling, brave, no complaining, no whining - she smiled. This is the Denise I remember, whatever was going on she kept smiling. I worked at the Colony with her and lived in the same area as Denise - I would often see her walking past my condo...she will be missed. May God Bless her and her family and all her friends. She is really blessed to have so many.

I worked with Denise at the Colony and remember how much my girls enjoyed my MOD days because they could spend the weekend with Denise in the kids program. When Denise left the Colony I will never forget how disappointed we all were. A few weeks later my girls came home from South Side School so excited because Denise started to work the after school program. Denise was a special person and left such a great impression on my girls. Denise you will be truly missed. GOD BLESS

I have hundreds if not a thousand memories of Denise from playing ball with her. Denise was my childhood idol. She hung out with my sister Ann & Leslie Kantor and the softball community. I was her biggest fan and I always wanted to be a talented athlete like her... I even named my Barbie dolls after her. I think maybe because of her I am very active because of her positive influence on me from those softball days. To me Denise was and always will be Miss Sarasota Softball. I know Denise was always loved by all and will be truly missed. My heart aches for her family and friends. With sincere deep sympathies, Gena (Genoff) DeRibeaux

I knew Denise since our days back at Southside Elementary.
We went to school together through highschool. She was always positive, a super athlete, and gave everything her best. I truly thought she would win this fight, but I guess God had other things in mind for her. While we're all terribly sad that she's not with us, I know she's in a better place free from suffering and full of peace and light. If God needed a winning softball or tennis team in Heaven, he's finally got his star player! She's on a beautiful new journey now, and hopefully through our grief we can find some comfort in that.
