Richard W. Schiff, 95, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Newark, OH., died on Jul. 19, 2012. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sun., at Anchin Pavilion in Sarasota, FL. Funeral arrangements by: Packer Funeral Home.
Burial will be on July 25th at 10:30am at the Sarasota National Cemetery. Richard was the son of Hannah and Adolph Schiff, brother of Anthony and James Schiff, he was born on January 2, 1917 in Newark, Ohio, where he lived until 1990. Richard was a graduate of the Ohio State University's College of Business Administration and served in Patton's 6th Armored Division in World War II. After the war, he and his brother Jim owned Mohlenpah's, a store in downtown Newark. In retirement he enjoyed photography and framing his work, playing bridge, researching genealogy and working on his computer. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Harriet Zanville Schiff, daughters Margie (Sandy) Rosenholz and Beth Ann (Irv) Katz, grandchildren Stacey (Steve) Rosenthal, David Rosenholz, and Julie (Steve) Schoper and great grandson Chase Schoper.

God did not mean for us to fall asleep in death at all. We are truly sorry for the loss of your dear loved one.
