Virginia Black was born November 7th, 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky she resided in Louisville before moving to New Albany, Indiana and then to Sarasota, Florida in August 1995
Virginia was 87 years of age when she departed this earth peacefully on Thursday December 3rd, 2015
She is survived by her loving husband Gene a daughter Patricia L Phillips and her husband David of Crawfordville, Florida, and two brothers Howard Sloan of El Paso Texas, Sanford (Sonny) Sloan of Halihan Louisiana also three loving Grand Children, Sherri Lynn Vogan/Vince of Sarasota, Florida, Wade Aron Phillips/Kathy of Crawfordville Florida, John Phillips/Melissa of Highland Home Alabama and nine Great Grand Children.
She was a member and past Queen of Daughters of the Nile Temple #152 Sarasota, Florida also, Sahib Shrine Temple Ladies Oriental Shrine Sarasota, Florida
Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star #327 Jeffersonville, Indiana
Past Royal Matron of the Order of Amaranth # 20 Charlestown, Indiana
Past Worthy High Priestess of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem #20 New Albany, Indiana the Apet Shrine Guild of North America in Clarksville, Indiana and the Red Hat Society of Sarasota, Florida Although not a member of Cortez #538 Masonic High Twelve club in Bradenton, Florida she attended the meetings and joined in with other ladies as her health permitted.
