William Worthy

CHESNEE, SC-- Mr. William Edward Worthy, 84, of Chesnee, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015. A native of Spartanburg County, he was the widower of Ethel Hicks Worthy and the son of the late Clyde Worthy and Nettie Mae Thrift. He worked for county maintenance, was a mason and retired from the United States Air Force.
He is survived by children, Burt Worthy (Cindy) of Chesnee and Diane Worthy of Inman; sister, Juanita Buckner of Chesnee; grandson, Grey Worthy and step-grandson, Jason Seybt (Christie).
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda Gale Worthy-Seybt and brother, Roy Worthy.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 4, 2015 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. Graveside services will immediately follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Gary Jordan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family will be at the residence.
