Alonzo Stepp Obituary

HICKORY – Alonzo Russell Stepp, 74, passed away August 13, 2010 at his residence. Born October 5, 1935 in Polk County, he was the son of the late Walter W. Stepp and Fannie Mae Wiggins Stepp. He was retired from Hyalyn Porcelain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Clarence Frank Stepp. Survivors include six brothers: James Stepp and wife Helen of Hickory; Paul Stepp and wife Jane of Raleigh, David Stepp and wife Soon of Raleigh, Bill Stepp of Glenn Alpine, Kenneth Stepp and wife Sharlet of Carthage, Tenn., and Danny Stepp and wife Dee of Connelly Springs; two sisters: Lillian Thacker of Conover and Elizabeth S. Shelton of Burke County; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 at Henry River Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kelly Matthews officiating.
