Billy Jackson Obituary

Billy Jackson HICKORY Mr. Billy Ray Jackson, 58, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1953, in Dillon, S.C., the son of George Ellis Jackson and Chancy Elaine Hatchell Jackson. He was a member of Penelope Baptist Church; proprietor of Drive Thru Package in Longview; a graduate of Latta High School, where he was a star football player; and a graduate of Francis Marion University. Billy went by many nicknames, some of which were "Billy Jack," "Wild Bill" and "Ray." A person who loved the public, he also loved golf, cooking, NASCAR and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His leadership to advise many, along with his generosity and thoughtfulness, will be remembered by all for years to come. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Roger Jackson. Survivors include his wife, Linda Jackson; a son, Billy Jackson and wife, Tondra, of N. Wilkesboro; two daughters, Brooke Miller and husband, Danny, of Newton and Nichole Dailey and husband, Conor, of Conover; two brothers, Theron Jackson of Latta, S.C., and James Jackson of Dillon, S.C.; seven sisters, Frances Hayes of Latta, S.C., Pat Beck-with of Florence, S.C., Joan Norton of Latta, S.C., Vonda Miller of Latta, S.C., Elaine Hester of Florence, S.C., Linda Clark of Latta, S.C. and Ann Jackson of Latta, S.C.; and seven grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Penelope Baptist Church, by Pastor David Grinnell. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, in Catawba Memorial Park, by Pastor Nicholas Wilson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday, March 6, at Penelope Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Association, 1311 Mamar-oneck Ave., Suite 310, White Plains, NY 10605. Online condolences may be made at www. catawbamemorialpark.com. Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations is providing professional services to the Jackson family.

We will miss Bills smiling face...He always had a smile no matter how bad he felt or how tired he was. We started talkin to Bill last year about nascar. I called Bill my husbands "Kyle Busch" buddy. He loved my husbands tarheel money clip,Jason gave Bill the money clip because he wanted to make Bill happy during his treatments. We will always miss Bill, going to the store will never be the same. WE LOVE YA BILL!!!!!!
