Doris Houston Obituary
Doris Arline Eckard Houston, 82, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, after months of declining health.
Doris was born in Hickory and was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 8. A receiving for family and friends will be held in front of the church, 30 minutes prior to the service.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Houston; and son, Chuck Houston, both of Hickory; and a brother, Marcus Eckard of Portland, Ore.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorie Isenhour and husband, Vince; two sisters, Saundra Spencer and Jeanette Benfield; and four grandchildren, Alex Houston, Saylor Barnette, Seth Barnette, and Dylan Houston. She leaves behind two lifelong friends, Nancy Huffman and Joann Ekard.
Doris will be laid to rest in the Memorial Garden at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Christy Lohr-Sapp presiding.
