Edward Yoder Obituary
April 28, 1939 - July 3, 2024
Edward, 85, of Hickory, passed away on Wednesday July 3, 2024, at Carolina Caring Hospice after a period of declining health.
Mr. Yoder was born April 28, 1939, in Catawba County, a son of the late Ralph Enoch and Ethel Elizabeth Barger Yoder. He was a member of Mt. Hebron Lutheran Church, retired sheet metal fabricator in the heating and air conditioning industry and as the owner and operator of Raintree Cellar. Edward served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran with two tours of duty and was a member of the Lovelady Masonic Lodge, Valdese.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a brother, Allan Yoder.
Surviving is his wife, Cheryl Melton Yoder of the home; a son, Andy Yoder (Nancy) of Hickory; two daughters, Regina (Mike) Sain of Hildebran and Corenia (Tim) Stuart of Hickory; brothers, Harold McMillan Yoder of Hickory, Albert Franklin Yoder, ("D") of Fla.; sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Coffey (Johnny) of Icard, Ellen Marie Cranford (Rick) of Hildebran; and a sister-in-law, DeeDee Yoder of Hickory. Also surviving are the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, Matthew Hoyle, Erika Keener, Joshua Yoder, Ariel Robinson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2024, at Mt. Hebron Lutheran Church, Hildebran, with Rev. Karin O'Donnell officiating. Entombment will follow, with military honors by the NC National Guard, in the Mt. Hebron Lutheran Church Columbarium.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.
