James Holden Obituary

CONOVER - James David Holden, 45, of Conover, went to be with our Heavenly Father and joined his son, Christopher, on Friday, July 30, 2010. Born Nov. 7, 1964, in Catawba County, he was the son of Willis M. Holden and a very special, loving and caring mother, Neita McGuire Holden. David was known throughout the community. He never met a stranger and was always a loving and giving person. He will be missed by all those he left behind. David was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He always wanted to help the elderly and was known to just walk up to a stranger and carry on a conversation. Everyone knew David; he will be deeply missed by all. David leaves behind his wife, Kimberly Dawn Holden; son, Jonathan Holden and his wife, Miranda; and special grandson, Eli Holden. He was the youngest son of Willis M. Holden and Neita McGuire Holden of Conover; three brothers, Willis M. Holden Jr., Mark Twain Holden and Hal Holden and his wife, Sherrie of Conover; sister, Sheila Miller and her husband, Terry, of Conover; a number of nieces and nephews; and many friends that have always been there throughout his life, including Michael Gray (Petee), who was like a brother to him; the two of them were inseparable. A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Freedom Baptist Church, 125 West 27th St., Newton, N.C., with the Rev. R.M. "Bo" Caulder Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, Aug. 3, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover. Memorial contributions may be made to the James David Holden Memorial Fund, in care of Kimberly Holden, 2003 Benny Drive, Conover, N.C. 28613. Condolences may be sent to the Holden family at www.drumfuneralhome.com. The Holden family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover.

So very sorry to hear about your both your recent losses Kim and Johnathan. I know it is hard to find strength and understanding during times of loss but keep your eyes on the Lord as only he can comfort you, The bible says that he will be a husband to the widowed and a father to the fatherless.
