Daddy, Its been almost a year since you passed. Losing both you and Mom in the past year has left me empty. Ive been designing memorial tats for me to get for you both. It still hurts knowing I cant just pick up the phone to hear your voice. But I hope youre proud that your blood flows on through me,Tab and Eric, Eric will be sworn into the Army next week! Can You believe that? I want you to know youll never be forgotten...I will make sure of that. I love you Daddy....I hope you are resting in peace as you watch over us all. Hey, Jim went this morning to get the orginal personalized tag to put back on the black angel that Doug rides now in your memory. He rides it with alot of pride and your memory is always with us. Went to Thunder last Friday night and requested Pat to sing the song she sang for you. Pat made an announcement in memory of you before she began singing it was from the heart, I cried through the whole song, but hell that's okay right? We love and miss you everyday! Talked to Sherrie the other day and I think Mike is planning a memorial ride for you but I am not sure what day. I will let you know so you can be our Guardian Angel Wings. Doug will be front rider with Sherrie riding with him and I will follow. We will ride proudly in your memory, I know those great big angel wings will be wrapped around all that will ride that day. Later man, love ya.

I meet Jim through my husband back in 1998 he had done my husband's tats. So,when I got ready for mine on my b-day he took me to the best around..JIM'S*I remember when I walked in I looked around to see what I wanted--he had such beautiful art-work.I choose a heart and had my husband's name put in it.Jim knew I was a little scared so he laugh and joked with me about putting his name in my heart instead of my husband Jerry. He kept saying sure you dont want Jim in it?and I laughed and said I dont think Jerry would like it.He was a great man:)We took our son to him also he done two for him.I wanted one more tat but I never got back to him--I wish now I would have.I wanted him to do- In memory of my mom that passed away in oct.08.But,I have one that I can wear with pride and smile and laugh when I look at it and remember that good ole day I was in his shop..Rest in peace Jim.You will truly be missed;I just found out about you passing today:(To your family and all your friends may God be with them in they're time of need.God Bless You Jim!!!You were one of a kind.

There will never be another Tattoo Jim "Godfather of Tattoo's" I am shaking and tears flowing as I type. We know you will be our Guardian Angel Forever. Hope you found that fishing spot you dearly loved. Make sure you tattoo all those angels, since you are an angel yourself. Gonna miss you man. About 25 yrs ago my mom and I was in the Harley Shop next to Jim's. Jim walked in and I was like "mama, that guy has a tattoo on his neck"! Several years passed and I got my 2nd tattoo from him. Many times I would go by there and just sit and talk to him. Jim was awesome!
I did not know Jim was even sick and my friend told me night before that he had passed. I could not believe it!
I pass his shop everyday. It will be weird not to be able to stop in and see him.
May God bless all his family and friends. To all those he mentored in AA, stay on the wagon. Tattoo Jim would not want you to fall off!
God bless!

I knew Jim only briefly. Life brought us to the same crossroad in life. I never had a tattoo and never knew Jim as a tattoo artist. I do now. Jim was a man of many pearls of wisdom and spoke from the heart. I will miss the collecting of those life pearls and the application of them in my life, and I know that many others will as well. Jim, you are missed, but not forgotten, ever. Thank you for giving yourself to us. This world is a better place because of you in it, and so will eternity be.

To Jim's family and dear friends. May God hold your hand though this time and let you know that he (God) is and will always be there for you to turn to in a time unlike this one . Jim was unlike most men and unlike most people that ran a bussiness . He always had a smile when you walked though the doors and made you feel like when you left that you had made a friend for life... and in his heart I believe that Jim meant that he was a friend for life . Durining the time that I got my first Tattoo from him to the last one , he had a way of getting your mind off of the neddle and on to something else . I will always remember the way that he would cut up and joke . Truely a soul that will be miss here on earth but greatly welcome in heaven . R.I.P my friend , and my prayers and thoughts for the family and friends that here below . May we all soon meet again on that side of heaven . Love ya always , Lisa Edmonds & Ricky Buff

Jim will be greatly missed. He was unlike any man I have ever known. It only took a moment for anyone to get to know that Jim was very special. He will now be the great artist in the sky, and in our hearts forever. Thanks for all of the great TATtoos.

My fondest memories of Jim were at the Bike Rallys. Jim was the earlybird of the crowd. I would be coming in from a night of fun he would be up drinking coffee, out front talking junk as usual. I waited until I was 44 to get my 1st tattoo and it had to be Jim. Because there is no other. He was so active in so many things. And very, very wise. All that came in contact with him will never forget the smile and love in his heart. My Heart goes out to the family he will be missed in so many ways. Well Jim I WILL see you on the other side. Love Always

Tattoo, It's amazing how many lives that you have touched over the years in catawba and burke counties. You are well known for your tattoos, but I think most would say that you are an amazing person of many traits. You have given a lot to your community and friends. You are a great person to be around just to talk to. Everybody that I know, knows you, or have heard of you. I don't have tattoos, but people just appreciate you for being you. I will remember you as being a big kind man with a big kind smile.
May you R.I.P. Jim

Jim's Family - God sends his messengers to this Earth in so many different ways. Jim was one of those people that was able to reach out to some in a way no one else could. I have never met anyone that was able to light up a room with his presence.

So many owe a debt of gratitude to Jim for all the guidance and support he offered. Please know that his legacy will continue to live on this Earth with those he taught so well.

Jim, you were truly one unique and amazing man. I met you at age 13 and was the "other" daughter Robin had. I grew up in that shop after school for years. You did my first tattoo on my 18th birthday. You were my walking self help book for years. And I even broke down and went to meetings lol. Thanks for all the long talks about how stupid boys were. It was nice to have you just right upstairs to lend an ear. I am thankful that you had so many wonderful friends and family who were there for you in the last days of your life here. I know we will all miss you. You have left quite a legacy here on this earth. I am at peace knowing you are not suffering. Thank you for being such a loving person and putting yourself out there for the benefit of all of those you touched.

Such a dedicated man who always had a smile and a kind word. When he spoke, it came from his heart, it was a divine inspiration. He will be missed by so many. He is in God's loving arms now.

Jim you will be missed by all I had my nose pierced and I remember how you made me laugh to get my mind off of what you were doing.Couple a months later my daughter came in from Ohio and you did hers. I met you because of her. You did a great tatoo of Dale SR. on her when he was killed and it looked just like him. You did a couple on her and some on my grand daughters. You were a very happy person and made each person you came in contact with smile and laugh. Thank you for all the things you did for everyone. You will be missed. God bless you and your family.

Jim likely rode a Harley through the Pearly Gates of Heaven, walked up to Jesus with a big smile and offered to give him a Tattoo.

We Shall always hold fond memories you you in our hearts. Your work will continued to be carried my many people upon this earth until we gather again.

God's speed our friend.

The world is a better place because of Jim. He had an infectious laugh and a sly little crooked grin. You couldn't help but love him. He was so proud of his children and the work he did. Jim was a wonderful person and friend. There is only one Jim. May he live on in our hearts and minds.

Always,

Jim was a great guy with a lot of heart and soul. His life will be celebrated for years to come through his artwork, some of which I proudly display. Through laughter and tears, both in his shop and in his group meetings, Jim changed lives for the better. What more of a legacy could a man ask for? You will be missed, Tat Man!
