Lacie Daniels Obituary

Taylorsville Lacie Zella Munday Daniels, age 103, of the Pleasant Hill community in Taylorsville, passed away on Friday afternoon, July 2nd, 2010. She was born on November 9th, 1906, to parents Benjamin Loyd Munday Jr. and Mary Etta Blackman in Alexander County. Zella was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and sometimes housed visiting preachers and their families in the past. She provided many flower arrangements from her yard. She was married to Rev. Jeffie E. Daniels for more than 71 years before he passed away in 1998. In addition to her husband and her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, W. Curtis Daniels; 3 brothers, Loyd, Rummy and William Munday; 7 sisters, Ida Mitchell, Carrie Bumgarner, Creola Davis, Katie Bumgarner, Nannie Wike, Tina Russell, and Ada Earp; and also 2 infant grandchildren. She is survived by 3 children, Janis Dyson of Taylorsville, Ben A. Daniels of Hickory, and Loretta (Mrs. Christopher) McCabe of Southfield, MI.; 9 grandchildren Rick S. Dyson, Gary D. Dyson, Judy G. Dyson, Melony (Mrs. Ricky) Brown; LeeJan (Mrs. Barry) Waddell; Tria Daniels, Brandan Daniels, Michael C. McCabe, and Lisa J. (Mrs. Louis) Rodriguez; 10 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 7th at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m. at the church with burial to follow.
