My sweet, beautiful wife went to Heaven yesterday, Monday, May 3, 2021, at 3:35 p.m., beyond the sunset. I loved her and she loved me, for more than 60 years.

Mildred Davis Fox was born in Catawba County, to Terry and Irene Davis. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; paternal grandparents, Jacob and Della Davis; maternal grandparents, Luther and Bertha Bowman; and aunts, Margaret Lutz, Ruth Lutz, and Frances Leonard.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Fox of the home; sisters, Helen Poteat and husband, Bill, of Hickory; cousins, Margaret Alice, Carolyn, Libby, Ruth Anne; sister-in-law, Sandra Turner; her kitty, Summer; and two dogs, Flower and Molly. She was loved by her niece and nephew, Cathy Powell and David Mingus; great-nieces, Spencer Osterhoudt and Emily Mingus; and great-nephew, Shawn Mingus.

Mildred worked at Todd's Florist, and in later years, she worked as a nurse for Dr. T.R. Williams, Dr. Bill Fritz, and Dr. David Tart. She has been in declining health for over 10 years.

I would like to thank the Kindred Nurses and Hospice Ladies, especially, Karen, Jamie, Tracy, and R.N. Lisa Bumgardner.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 6, at 4 p.m., in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:45 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service. The Rev. Kenny Robinson will be officiating the service. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo-Synod.
