Mitchell Rowe Obituary
March 5, 1956 - July 4, 2022
Mitchell Takeo Rowe, 66, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, Monday, July 4, 2022, from pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Hickory, March 5, 1956, to Miiko Rowe and the late Peter Rowe.
He attended Hickory High and East Carolina University. He worked at Dollar Daze, Hudson Furniture, Hickory Printing, and was a realtor for Keller Williams Realty.
He loved hunting bargains around town with his dog, Beau, and spending time with his family, high school friends, and his Sunday school buddies from First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Becky Rowe; and his children, Peter Allen Rowe, Dr. Beau Rowe and wife, Grace, Laney Rowe and her fiancé, Josh Merrill; mother, Miiko Rowe; sister, Kathy Keener and husband, Staley; brother, Terry; nieces, Sarah Moretz, Katherine Nye, and Dr. Laura Keener; brother-in-law, Dr. Al Bandy and wife, Debbie; nieces, Ashley and Amy Bandy; and many cousins.
On Thursday evening, July 7, the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bass-Smith Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Hickory, Friday, July 8, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Christy officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church for Mission Outreach, 311 3rd Ave. NE, Hickory, NC 28601 or to Carolina Caring, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.

I was saddened to get the news that Mitchell passed away yesterday but also happy that heaven has received a wonderful gift. I was very proud to call Mitch my friend but much more proud that he called me his. I was also very blessed to get to meet much of the family who I now know to be special, strong, caring people. I will miss my friend dearly and know I am just one in a long line. My prayers will always be with this family. God Bless
