Oral Gregory Obituary

Oral Gregory NEWTON Oral Clyde Gregory, 73, of Newton passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born April 16, 1939 in Madison County, he was the son of the late Carl and Nora Seay Gregory. Oral was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Wilma and Eugene. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughter, Karen Ramsey; two sons, Kelvin and Michael Gregory; stepsons, Richard Phillips and Howard Dinsmore; a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews; three sisters, Faye Allen, Christine Lowman, and Shirley Schrell. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. at Aplacetotalk. net (formerly known as Brookford Baptist Church), in Hickory with Pastor Josh McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookford City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church, prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Kelvin Jr., Brian, Kevin, Jimmy, Dylan and Richard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

I will remember OC as always causing me to laugh at least once, and often times more, in every conversation. Our flea market and swap meet moments in time, were trully a blast. I will miss another family member and good friend gone. When its my time, I will see him again. He will probably have me laughin before i can get through the gate.
