Paul K. Saunders

MAIDEN - Paul Kenneth Saunders, 78, of Anderson Mountain Road in Maiden, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at home. Born April 3, 1929, in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Frank M. Saunders and Zettie Dellinger Saunders. He was a member of Center View Baptist Church in Maiden and a veteran of the U.S. Army for two years. In addition to his parents, a brother, Marshall Saunders, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Minnie Belle Painter Saunders of the home; one daughter, Paula Dagenhart of Maiden; grandson, Justin Wayne Dagenhart and wife, Kqisha, also of Maiden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Stroupe of Mount Holly, and Alice Saunders, Bessie and Bill Abernathy and Mable Goodson, all of Maiden; brother, Floyd Saunders also of Maiden; sisters-in-law, Hazel S. Saunders of Lincolnton and Dora Garner of Richfield; brothers-in-law, Floyd (Bully) Painter of Maiden and John and wife, Lujean Painter, of Lincolnton; other mentionable family and friends, Wayne Franklin Dagenhart of Catawba, Frank, Charlene and Dawn Rinehardt of Maiden, Michael and Lorna Dagenhart and children, Gabriela and Jason, of Catawba; Christine Barker and Ella Abernathy, both of Lincolnton; and so many more than we could ever list. Love to all! A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Center View Baptist Church in Maiden, with the Revs. Glenn Sellers and Ernie Richards officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, prior to the graveside service at the church.
