Robert Lee Kirkland, 74, of Lincolnton, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.
Born Dec. 25, 1947, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late James Richard and Estelle Marr Kirkland. Robert was a member and deacon of River of Life Full Gospel Church in Mount Holly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters; and one brother.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Jean Kirkland of the home; son, Robert Keith Kirkland of Lincolnton; daughter, Karen Elaine Beal of Lincolnton; niece, Barbara Cantrell of Lincolnton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m., at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Maiden, with Pastor Justin Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
