Sally Steele Obituary

Sally Ann Steele HICKORY Sally Ann Steele, 77, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Springs of Catawba. Born Sept. 21, 1934, in Dalton, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John Fetherston and Elaine Smith Fetherston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Martin, and a brother, James Feth-erston. Ms. Steele was devoted to her family and had moved to Hickory to help with her grandchildren. She also worked at the Hickory Furniture Mart. She is survived by two sons: Marty Steele of Hickory, and Shaun Steele of Calumet City, Ill.; a daughter, Tracey Steele of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Richard Feth-erston, of Schenectady, N.Y.; her grandson, Tyler Steele of Hickory; her granddaughters: Madison Steele of Hickory; Jessica Solberg, of Oak Park, Ill., Melissa Steele of Oak Park, Ill.; five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. There will be no services held at this time. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.bass-smithfuneralhome.com. Bass-Smith Funeral Home is serving the family of Sally Ann Steele.
