Sandra Sprinkle Obituary

VALDESE - Mrs. Sandra Gail Brittain Sprinkle, 46, of Connelly Springs, went to meet her Heavenly Father on Oct. 6, 2009, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Creed and Hester May, and paternal grandparents, Manuel and Pearlie Brittain. Sandra was born Sept. 10, 1963, in Ansonia, Conn., to Charles E. Brittain and Carolyn M. Sheets. She received her B.S. degree in accounting from Gardner-Webb University and was employed by Continental Automotive. Sandra was a faithful and active member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church. Her passions included assistant Girl Scout leader of Troop 10066, the East Burke High School Band Booster Club, Western Carolina Pride of the Mountains Marching Band and volunteering at the Susan Adkins School of Dance. In addition to her parents, Sandra is survived by her husband, Daniel L. Sprinkle of Connelly Springs; a daughter, Rachel Kerrigan Sprinkle of the home; a son, W. Keaton Sprinkle of Cullowhee; and a grandson, William Bryant Sprinkle. She also is survived by her stepmother, Hazel Brittain; her stepfather, William G. Sheets; a brother, Christopher Brittain of Connelly Springs; a sister, Carla Y. Brittain of Hickory; a stepsister, Angela Cope and husband, Henry; and two stepbrothers, Robert Sheets and Dean Sheets and wife, Darla. Also surviving are several aunts and uncles. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eric James officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658 or East Burke Band Booster, 3695 E. Burke Blvd., Connelly Springs, N.C. 28612. Working with Sandra for so many years, she became family to us. Our son past 19 months ago and she was such a help. GOD spoke through her giving the words of comfort that was needed. She is there with him now giving me more to strive each day to be GOD's child,,I will see them one day just as you will. Keep making her proud as you always did.

I would just like to say Mrs. Sprinkle raised an amazing and selfless son who always puts others before himself. Although I've never met her, I've heard a lot from Keaton and can tell she was an amazing mother. Everyone in the WCU marching band is thinking of you all!
