Moma Deb, Paw Den, Jeni and pretty girl Emma. I can never put into words what you have always meant to me. I love you so much. This has been the hardest month of my life. I know it could never compare to what you are feeling. I just want each of you to know that I am forever here for you. Skip has always and always will mean more to me than most will ever know. Thank you so much for raising a Beautiful person. There will never be another one like Skip, his smile, his golden heart and that wonderful acceptance he showed to so many.I know we must move on with the strength from above, however a part of my heart will forever be lonesome. I thank you for always opening your doors and your arms to that Wiles kid from Lenoir. You will always have a place in my heart. I love you all. In the loving Honor and Memory of Skip Brinkley. My brother my best friend.

Den and Deb, you've been in our thoughts, prayers but most of all our hearts for the past days and will be forever. Skip was my friend even though I only shared his company at the hunt back in those hills he loved so much. He will be missed by all and know that comfort will come through Gods love for us all. We love you both so much.

deb, den, jen and family, there are no words for the pain that i have felt in my heart for you all since hearing of this. my thoughts and prayers have been with you constantly. he was precious to me and always come to find me when he was in town at wal-mart, lenoir, with that big beautiful grin. i grieve with you because my son loved him as a brother, his best friend is gone, along with his dream of spending his years after military, in business with Skip. May the Lord give you the strength and grace to get through the next couple days and be your comfort in the days to follow. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I am so so sorry for your loss. I know what a wonderful person Skip was. He was my brother Rob's best friend for 20 years or so. He will live in all of our hearts forever. Hang on to the fact that this world is only temporary and one day we will see him again. While Rob was in Iraq Skip would drop by Walmart in Lenoir (where my mom and I worked) just to say hey. That is forever etched in my mind. The fact that he loved my brother as his own brother and he took the time to check in on us. You guys raised a wonderful person. Lives will forever be changed if they had the chance to have known him. May God grant you all the mercy you need thru all of this. We have been and will continue to pray for all of you. Sincerely-Jennifer Wiles

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
