Virginia Dare Austin Winecoff

June 2, 1937 - August 10, 2024

Virginia Dare Austin Winecoff, 87, of Conover passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Trinity Village in Hickory.

She was born on July 2, 1937 to the late Ray Harley Austin and Vertie Maudin Teague Starnes in Caldwell County. Virginia attended Dudley Shoals High School.

In addition to her parents, her daughter, Pamela Rena Kistler; sister, Betty Young; and brothers, Leonard Austin and Julius Starnes Jr., preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Rickland Dean Hollar and wife Kay; grandchildren, Sean Rickland Hollar and Anna Marie Hollar; sister, Margie Walsh; and four nieces and a nephew.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Dr. Dale Watts will officiate the service. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
