Warren L. Slivensky

LANSING, Mich. - Warren L. Slivensky, 79, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010. Warren was born Aug. 11, 1930, in Lansing, the son of the late August and Ann (Petrusha) Slivensky. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and retired from the Board of Water and Light after 34 years of service. Warren was also a member of IBEW Local 352. Warren loved to visit the casino, play cards, and John Wayne westerns, but most of all, he loved his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randel; daughter, Janet Kay; brother, Raymond; sister, Ginger Whiting. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia "Patty"; children, Charles (Diane) of Hickory, N.C., Ginger (Michael) Magistro of Tennessee, Karen (James) Cullimore of Holt, Patti (Bruce) Kruger of Lansing, Diane (Michael) Olding of Kentucky, Sandra (Wayne) Seeley of Lansing and Mary Lynn (Deveone) Gilbert of Lansing; 12 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren; brother, Donald; sisters, Geraldine Lenneman and June Demorest; brother-in-law, Donald (Glenna) Sherman; and his dear hunting buddies. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated today, Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at noon, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael O'Brien as Celebrant. The family received friends Tuesday at the Palmer Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, and will be at the church today from 11 a.m. until service time. A Scripture service was held Tuesday evening at the funeral home. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW National Home for Children, Ele's Place or IHM Parish in memory of Warren Slivensky.
